New lines from Strasbourg for the Volotea company
The Spanish airline company VOLOTEA based in Entzheim since 2015 has announced the opening of new lines.
"With 2 million passengers departing from Strasbourg since its establishment in 2015, Volotea is the major partner of Strasbourg Airport," says Thomas Dubus, chairman of the board of the Strasbourg airport.
Founded in 2012, the young Spanish company aims to connect European regional cities at a good price. "The idea is to create links between regional capitals that are not or poorly served," says Pierfrancesco Carino, sales director of Volotea.
Since 2015, Volotea has tripled the number of its passengers. It currently employs 30 people. "Strasbourg makes up 10% of Volotea's business," says Thomas Dubus.
For 2020, the company wants to go even further. It offers 70,000 additional seats and the launch of four new exclusive lines from Strasbourg. Alsatians will be able to discover Marrakech and Lanzarote in December 2019, and Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca from April 2020.
